What is Coregulation?

Coregulation, an “active ingredient” in psychotherapy, is a method of human communication, with a partner or group, that helps people regulate anxiety, burnout & health by restoring coherence to the Polyvagal nervous system. Coregulation can be used for self management, or strategically by therapists, healthcare professionals, educators, supervisors, family & friends to support performance & health.

What do we do?

CHI's mission is to improve mental health and well-being by addressing social disconnection through research, education, training, and support programs.

We envision a future where everyone has the tools and resources they need to build strong social connections and thrive.

CHI is led by Dr. Robert Metcalf PhD and a group of health professionals in mental health, social work, and public health. Our team is dedicated to conducting innovative research and developing effective programs to support individuals and communities.

The Coregulation Health Institute (CHI) is dedicated to helping people overcome these challenges. We believe that strong social connections are essential for mental well-being. CHI conducts research to understand the impact of social disconnection and develop effective interventions.

We offer a variety of services, including education, training, and support programs, to help individuals improve their mental health and build stronger social connections.
